Le Sony'r Ra (born Herman Poole Blount, May 22, 1914 – May 30, 1993), better known as Sun Ra, was an American jazz composer, bandleader, piano and synthesizer player, and poet known for his experimental music, "cosmic" philosophy, Afrofuturism, prolific output, and theatrical performances. For much of his career, Ra led "The Arkestra", an ensemble with an ever-changing name and flexible line-up.
When the aliens came for Sun Ra, they explained that he had been selected for his “perfect discipline.” Not every human was fit for space travel, but he, with his expert control over his mind and body, could survive the journey. This instruction guided Ra for the rest of his life as a musician and a thinker. In response to the human world around him, during the next four decades - until his death, in 1993 — Ra released more than a hundred albums of visionary jazz. Some consisted of anarchic, noisy “space music.”
Out There A Minute comprises thirteen tracks from the end of the Arkestra’s New York period, personally compiled by Sun Ra from an archive of rare recordings. The recordings range from straight-up big band bop through to some of the more intensely alien pieces.
This is the original, gatefold UK 1989 Blast First release.

It has been kept in storage in a smoke free household. It is from a large and varied record collection, not a DJ collection. This record has never been DJed and is in good condition.
There is evidence of slight foxing on the record sleeve from being in storage.
On Side 1, there are two small crackles before the 1st composition. Between tracks 1 and 2, there are wee crackles. At the start of track 2, 'Somewhere in Space' there are three small crackles. About a minute into track 3, 'Dark Clouds' there is another small crackle. With 'When Angel's Speak of Love' the 5th track, about 40 seconds into the start, there are four crackles over a period of 20 seconds. Then at the end of this track, 3.20 minutes there are two more crackles.
Turn the disc over to Side 2, there are frequent crackles during the 1st track, 'Song of Tree and Forset'. Then with the opening bars of track 2, 'Other Worlds' there are several crackles. Between tracks 3 and 4, there are two crackles. About 40 seconds into track 4, 'Lights Of A Satellite', there is a crackle. With track 5, 'Starships And Solar Boats' about 5.50 minutes there is a crackle.
