Description
This is an original hand-painted pressing of Sun Ra Sound Mirror on Saturn 1978-2. Side 1 has lightly audible a mark at the beginning but otherwise plays flawlessly; Side 2 has a light, inaudible paper scuff but plays as new; the playing surfaces have a high luster; perhaps played once or twice. The cover is of the customized variety produced by members of the Sun Ra Arkestra during road trips or at home in the clubhouse. There is a colorized photo of the band with black and blue pen decoration, over which textured plastic laminated has been placed. The labels, as well, are decorated with colored pens. The cover back is blank. There is a 1" split at the center of the top seam. The personnel consist of an unusually small group - a septet - including Marshall Allen and John Gilmore.
