Sun Ra on Savoy 12169

 

This is the rare pressing of Sun Ra “Futuristic Sounds” on the maroon and silver labels of Savoy MG 12169.  The playing surface is basically in beautiful condition, with a high luster, showing no groove wear; however, there are several faint inaudible hairlines and an inaudible needle drop at the end of Track 3 and the beginning of Track 4 on Side B.  The coated frame cover is in excellent condition, with  flawless artwork; light shelf wear on the back.  Personnel include John Gilmore, Marshall Allen,  Pat Patrick, Bernard McKinney, and Ronnie Boykins
