Description

"Son of a Gun" b/w "Our Little Blue Haired Boy" by "Sunshine" Pritchard. Recorded on June 11 & 12, 1929 and issued on Electrobeam Gennett 6902. I don't have to tell any serious collectors how desirable any Gennett recording is, especially on the Electrobeam series. This is the only Gennett 78 made by Pritchard. The "A" side is a rollicking version of "Columbus Stockade Blues," retitled "Son of a Gun." Condition of this beauty is E-/V+. Visual scuffs, virtually no scratches. Plays closer to E, but I downgraded it only because of its visual appearance. "B" side plays with a little more surface noise but no scratches or crackle. I will be happy to forward an unfiltered MP3 of a thirty-second snippet of either side if requested. Labels are clean (see scans). Due to the post office's recent mishandling of a rare record, I am requiring that winners pay $2.00 insurance for the first $50 in coverage. Insurance in excess of $50 is free.
