It's avery decent live recording w/ the piano, sax & drums quite present although the bass is a bit lacking. There is some surface noise on the LP I believe mostly due to the red vinylite pressing.
The liner notes read ""HI FI FANS NOTE! The original tapes were recorded on an Ampex '600' tape recorder with a single Electro Voice 654 microphone. RCA Victor processed the stampers and made the pressings in accordance with the new RIAA frequency curve, on the best possible substance, pure grain vinylite."
The record label reads : "Presented by the Penn State Jazz Club, Recorded at Recreation Hall, March 18, 1955." In bold letters on the bottom, "FOR MEMBERS ONLY" with "F8OP 7083
Total tracking time is 60 minutes which is the complete performance except that it is faded at the end of For All We Know.
I will provide a quality CD transfer of this LP if you request it upon purchase.

NOTE: VPI cleaned means that this record was cleaned on a professional $500 cleaning machine, which does wonders for the playback of all vinyl records!
