Up for auction this week is a very rare UK original Yellow & Black MONO pressing of the Beatles classic LP - Please Please Me. Released in 1963 by Parlophone Records, catalogue number PMC 1202. Comes in its original sleeve and is complete with its 'emitex' inner bag.

A really great album which is incredibly rare and impossible to find in any condition.

E J Day Sleeve flip back sleeve with large Mono and Angus McBean photo credit at bottom right

Northern Songs credits on I Saw Her Standing there, Misery, Do You Want To Know A secret and There's A place. Dick James credit on Please Please Me.

The laminated sleeve is clean on the front with some laminate creases. The back of the cover has some soiling as well as some writing. However all the original text is fully legible. .

The disc has really nice labels - clean with no writing, no tears and no sticker marks. The disc retains a nice sheen but does have light scratches / scuffs to the vinyl. It plays well throughout - there are some crackles and background noise in the quieter sections and between tracks etc. There are a few light clicks on two of the tracks but no jumps or sticks. Please see scans.

Overall, a decent copy of this classic Beatles album to add to your collection.

The Signatures are in pencil, although harrisons has been gone over by a black pen.

I bought the record in 1991 from the Corn Exchange in Manchester. It came with a Letter of Authenticity from a Man called John Skirerton, who claims the signatures were originally signed in 1963
