Sweet Pain – Sweet Pain Label: United Artists Records – UAS-6793 Format: Vinyl, LP Country: USA Released: 1970
Sweet Pain was formed in LA, California in the late 1960s by guitarist and vocalist David Riordan, after the collapse of his former band The Yankee Dollar. In 1970, this debut album of the same name was released. The music on the record is quite bright and interesting west coast psych-rock with rather complex vocal and instrumental harmonies and guitar solos. Following the album's release, they toured the United States as the opening act for many established artists. At home in Southern California, they performed regularly at the famous Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, where they often had to share the stage with such well-known artists as Linda Ronstadt, War and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
