Description
German 1991 reissue of Sweet's first single, originally released on Fontana. This was a limited edition of 500 numbered copies on Repertoire Records REP 6005-SP, and as you can see this is #176.
The picture sleeve is of particular interest to Sweet fans as it features a picture of the legendary Connolly, Tucker and Priest, but alongside Frank Torpey (he's the one 2nd from the left) - the original guitarist who was eventually replaced by Andy Scott. Torpey was definitely a member of the band when this single was originally released, although there remains debate as to whether or not he actually played on this single. (interesting fact - Brian Connolly's last ever recorded song, just prior to his sad & untimely death, saw him reunited with Frank Torpey on guitar.)
The record I believe to be unplayed. I've kept it unplayed for many years and I am pretty sure it was unplayed when I bought it. Either way, it is flawless. The side and bottom seam splits are a function of the record digging into the sleeve over the years, but don't detract too much as it is otherwise in great shape. ( I will ship the record in a plain white sleeve alongside the picture cover to prevent any further splitting.)
