Description

T Rex album from 1981 "Marc Bolan - 20th Century Boy" (EME MARC 1). I purchased this new at the time of release. The front and back covers, the triple gatefold sleeve (front and back) and all inner bags are entirely mint. The first issue of this triple lp came with 3 photo collage inner bags to place the lps in the gatefold sleeve, with later pressings having paper inners replicating the same photos as the inner bags. Somehow, when I purchased this release new, I received BOTH THE INNER BAGS AND THE PAPER INSERTS. Bonus for you!

The vinyl is absolutely flawless, and the labels are very clean. The record is a compilation put out by EMI after Bolan's death. This is a 'must have' Bolan release as it contains many songs that were, at the time, completely 'unobtainable' on lp - including some of his very early, very rare, and therefore very collectable releases. There are 63 tracks on this release containg 40 consecutive single A-sides, from the first solo single 'The Wizard', to John's Children and 'Desdemona' through all Tyrannosaurus Rex and T Rex classic singles. As well, includes the incredibly rare 'Oh Baby' by Dib Earwig, and 'Squint Eye Mangle' by Big Carrot. I still cannot find 'Squint Eye Mangle' on any other official Bolan release on vinyl or CD - the '20th Cebtury Superstar' box set only had the A-Side 'Blackjack'.

This is an Australian release on EMI Australia, and was only ever available in Australia. It is correctly reknowned as the most complete compilation of Bolan product on vinyl, and contains vinyl of such rarity that this release is now itself a major collector's item..

I have many photos of this release but the quality of the photographs do not really do justice to the mint condition of the package.

This is part of an extensive private collection of Tyrannosaurus Rex / Marc Bolan / T Rex records for auction at the same time. The vinyl has been collected over a 10 year period from 1976 and covers almost everything Marc Bolan released in his career, and includes all the major vinyl product made available after his death in 1977. I encourage you to have a look at the other listings. I will combine postage and charge $2 per extra record purchased in one transaction for Australian winners.

I am very careful to package all records in protective cardboard which resists bending.

I am more than happy to post overseas and will investigate postage costs through Australia Post for international bidders.
