The song "Young Love" has an interesting history. It was originally recorded by country singer Sonny James and released in 1956,. Meanwhile Dot Records, a label famous for having TV and movie star pop artists cover niche market hits (mostly R&B but in this case country) had Tab Hunter cover the song when they believed it would just be a country hit. But surprise! The Sonny James song crossed over and it hit #1 on the pop charts for a week in December of 1956. And even more of a surprise, as Sonny James worked his way down the charts, Tab Hunter's "Young Love" rose up the charts, landing at #1 in early 1957 and becoming the biggest hit of that year...#1 for 6 consecutive weeks! Tab Hunter continued to release singles but none were nearly as successful, and in 1961 released this enjoyable album. Near Mint condition.
