Label:   VERVE.  Label is flat black with silver text.   Monaural pressing on medium thick vinyl, does not have deep groove.  Jacket is laminated, with cover art by David Stone Martin.  Catalog number is V-8138. 

Year:  session dates: 1954, 1955;  originally issued on Norgran.  This is an early 60s pressing.

Personnel:   Tal Farlow – guitar; 

Accompanied on all of Side 1; 2-1; and 2-2:  Barry Galbraith – guitar; Oscar Pettiford – bass; Joe Morello – drums. 

On remainder of Side 2:  Red Mitchell – bass; Claude Williamson – piano.

Note:  This album comes from an extremely well cared-for jazz collection where the original owner cherished his albums, played them once or twice at most, and stored them under optimal conditions.  These are some wonderful opportunities for the discriminating collector who insists on top condition.

Condition: 

DISC:  Vinyl is gorgeous NEAR MINT, has been played a very small number of times, most likely once or twice, and handled with care.  Plays flawlessly with superb fidelity.  Labels are clean and pristine.    

JACKET:   Beautiful NM-.  Nice bright artwork, clean white reverse, seams and corners are excellent. Very small chip on spine near the bottom, nothing serious.  There is a very small factory stamp “CO 86” in purple ink on reverse.  No writing, stickers, or cutout indications.  Overall a beautiful item!
