s&the sleeve shows very
light creasing and minor ringwear while the vinyl got only very few tiny light paper scuffs per side Vinyl Looks and Sounds great, as new !
It takes guts to listen to 49 minutes of lute music, especially lute music from another culture. But one's courage is suitably rewarded by this solo album by expatriate Turkish musician and musicologist Talip Ozkan.
Most of this music is reasonably propulsive -- some of it very. "Duze Horon" is fast and urgent on the cura baglama lute, tuned like the kemenche (Middle Eastern violin) on which it is usually played. "Gurbet: Gut Gut Bogazi" sounds like Jimi Hendrix on lute not surprising since it is based on a wailing vocal form of music. The final track in played on a cura accompanied by foot stamping; the sound is so rich it could be a small orchestra.
