EXTREMELY RARE WEST AFRICAN PSYCH/BEAT/ROCK 45 from about 1968 on OBUOBA RECORDS, GHANA, WEST AFRICA DKN 231

- Teenage soul/beat/rock group led by Richard Tall Emma and featuring Chester Adams from the Uppers International on vocals. This is the last of only 5 copies of this that I bought from the producer ten years ago, probably only a handful pressed. Ghana and Nigeria had many groups who started playing a kind of English beat/rock with a hint of soul in the late 60's before most turned to Funk and Afrobeat in the 70s. However hardly any of them actually recorded any records as it was seen as teenage music and record producers rarely took the gamble knowing teenagers didn't buy many records. The Hammatan is the dry dusty wind that blows sand and dust south off the Sahara towards the coast every January in West Africa.
Condition: VG++/EX (great loud 1960s pressing) - cleaned ex stock with slight dirt residue but no scratches -comes in original plain white sleeve- see the pictures.

PLEASE NOTE SHIPPING IS NOT $4 AS ON LISTING BUT AS FOLLOWS - UK $4 and $2 for every additional record. Double packs count as 2 records. Europe $5 and $3 for every additional record. America and rest of the world $8 and $4 for every additional record. Insurance and registration are not included and if required you must contact us before the end of the auction. Items that sell for over $100 must be registered at a further cost of $5(does not apply to multiple purchases). We are not liable for items misplaced, delayed or broken by postal companies, but will do everything possible to help the search process with the post office in the rare event of this happening.
