Description
Background: Salvaged from the abandoned estate of an opera singer / collector, this album was part of a meticulously arranged, stunningly kept and carefully catalogued collection assembled from the late 1950's through the mid 1980's. Titles were bought new as they came out from a local department store and BARELY PLAYED! In selling the collection off, this is a great chance to stock up on some truly SUPERB STEREO copies of many classic titles. There are two drawbacks to the collection to keep in mind: (1) unfortunately, this collector liked to mark his territory and used various labels to identify the titles as belonging to him and also frequently notated the date purchased and overall length of the record onto the back cover (as seen in provided pictures). This also extended to taping homemade catalogue numbers at the base of the spine of most records (again, see pictures); and (2) as stated, these are from an abandoned estate and have, as such, been untouched for several years - many have a musty smell (if that bothers you) and several covers have been slightly to mildly affected by moisture (again, please rely on pictures and descriptions to see the extent). HOWEVER, the good news is that the vinyl itself has remained as close to pristine as it likely was from 1959-85 (the approximate range of years). Without further ado, this auction is for...

Grading: I grade conservatively on a scale of NM (rarely applied to a used record, must look absolutely pristine), EX (a true top copy worthy of any collection), VG+ (a minimal amount of marks may be seen under bright light with none deep enough to significantly affect playback), VG (perfectly good playing copy but may show slightly more than minimal marks with 1 or 2 maximum being feelable), VG- (still an eminently listenable record that will show numerous superficial and possibly several more impacting marks), G (will play through but could be a "noisy" listen the result of numerous surface marks of various severities).
