Description
Recording LP by Red Norvo titled "The Forward Look" (RR-8) (1957) (Stereo) (TAS). This album is so rare that most people don't even know that it was done. It is commonly known that there are MFSL UHQR's, but this one has remained something of a secret. ***** This fantastic album was recorded by Keith Johnson on New Years Eve, 1957, in a small club setting. He used a custom made, tube 3 channel stereo tape deck. It was one of the very first made. He used 3 Altec mics, and recorded it as a live club performance. It was mastered by Doug Sax, and pressed on Japanese virgin vinyl. Haf speed mastering was by the late, great Jack Hunt at JVC, and of course pressed by JVC in Japan, on JVC "Super Vinyl" UHQR virgin vinyl. *****

This record comes from a inherited collection of most audiophile jazz and classical that
my father spent his entire adult life putting together. All I want is for these records
to end up in the hands of someone who will appreciate them. Please message me if you're
interested in seeing a list of all the records. Because of the number of records
involved, I can only grade discs and jackets visually. I grade conservatively but
realistically: the highest grade I will give an unsealed disc whose surfaces are pristine
and unmarked is NM. A NM- grade indicates a disc with very minor visible evidence of use
(usually a minor scuff or light scratch ) that should not seriously interfere with
audition and may well be inaudible.
