Ted Curson

" Live at la tête de l'art"

Label: Original Trans World records

Number: TWJ 7000

recorded September 1962

Made in Canada

Note: ultra rare original release on the obscure Canadian Trans World label label.                                                       Although the album was reviewed by Leroi Jones for Downbeat, it remained unlisted in discographies and the physical existence of the album was in doubt for many years. In fact, a handful of copies were actually pressed for original release but barely distributed.

This live club date in Montréal has Curson performing all original compositions with the local trio of Al Doctor on alto saxophone, Maury Kaye on piano, Charles Biddles on bass and Charles Duncan on drums. Liner notes by Leroi Jones.

Most elusive Curson item around and by far one of the rarest items in all of modern jazz.

Grading

All gradings are based on thorough visual inspection and a full audition.

The standard scale applies (M*, NM, VG+, VG).

As a rule Near Mint (NM) is my highest grade.

* I don't believe in Mint (M) and will only use it in the exceptional case

where I'm sure to be dealing with an item from unplayed and untouched stock.

I don't offer anything below VG.

Return Policy

If you are not satisfied for any reason you return the item within two weeks

and I offer full refund, no discussion.

Shipping cost is however for the buyer.
