36. TEFTELLER Lux Radio Theatre 6-1-47 Al Jolson 16" Master Acetates
The Lux Radio Theater June 1st 1947 “The Jazz Singer” Starring Al Jolson and THIS IS THE REHEARSAL...not the actual broadcast! Complete with the occasional flub this is the afternoon Dress Rehearsal before the actual broadcast to the whole country that evening.
Lux Radio Theater acetate masters are hard enough to find, but this DRESS REHEARSAL set is probably the only one to exist!!!!!
And, what a show! Al Jolson doing the “Jazz Singer”!!! You will NEVER see this or anything like it, for sale ever again! This is one for the ages!
Two 16” double sided acetates make up the full hour and the acetates are in stunning E+ condition with just minor wear and the sound that comes from them is just fabulous!

All records listed this week are 16” radio transcriptions and many of them are actual, one of a kind MASTERS.
None of these was ever sold to the public and were recorded mainly for the artists and performers to have a “record” of their performance or for the radio networks to have an “air check” of what they have broadcast. With most old time radio programs, we are lucky to have ONE single surviving copy...as most were only sporadically recorded and many of the original records long ago destroyed.
The records I am listing over the next several weeks are from my personal collection. They play at 33 1/3 rpm and mostly run about 15 minutes per side. This means it takes two sides to make a half hour broadcast or four sides for an hour show. In the 1970’s and 80’s I ran the Archives for SPERDVAC in Los Angeles and have collected this type of material for over 35 years. Good Luck!

Your records will be mailed with plenty of cardboard around them in nice DEEP boxes with lots of packing peanuts etc. all around them for extra safety.
