THE BANDS PREVIOUS album featured guitarist Alan Holdsworth and caused quite a stiff amongst the prog cognoscenti what with their heavy rock assault and blistering guitar work. Sadly, however, something upset the applecart as two of the original members decided to leave the band prior to album number two, namely Holdsworth and vocalist Paul Williams.

Band leaders Mark Clarke and Jon Hiseman (both ex Colosseum) vowed to fight on and recruited just one replacement in brilliant guitarist Ollie Halsall, fresh from Patto and every bit as accomplished and talented as Holdsworth. In fact, its hard to decide who is exactly the better guitarist as both are extraordinarily accomplished jazz fusionists always on the look out for exciting opportunities to solo and impress.

As a three piece the sound is enormous and wonderfully orchestrated with Halsall proving a brilliant foil for Clarke and Hisemen as they conjure up some of the most exhilarating music of the era. In fact, the arrangements here are way closer to the music of Patto than Colosseum which is a blessing in itself.

Great stuff and a super clean copy.

Vinyl: Superb clean condition. One barely noticeable spindle mark on label and no other signs of use. Grades as an archive MINT-!

Cover: Virtually no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated die cut cover with no barely any wear. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is perfectly formed - pinched top and bottom - straight and completely uncrushed. Lightest signs of storage. Grades as archive MINT-!
