TEN YEARS AFTER SELF TITLED FIRST DISC
DERAM STEREO DES 18009 RELEASED OCTOBER 1967
DEAD WAX STAMPED ZAL 8050 - A1 AND ZAL 8051 – A1
THE FIRST DISC BY THE BLUES ROCK BAND WITH ALVIN LEE THE ENGLISH ELMORE JAMES. IT IS SURPRISING HOW WELL THIS DISC HAS AGED. IT SOUNDS FRESHER TODAY WHERE IT SOUNDED STALE IN THE MIDST OF THE PLETHORA OF ENGLISH BLUES ROCK OF THE MID/LATE 60S.
THE DISC IS PRISTINE I DO NOT THINK IT WAS EVER PLAYED UNTIL I JUST DID. IT HAS THAT MIRROR LIKE SURFACE WITH NO MARKS. IT PLAYS QUIET AND CLEAN THROUGHOUT BOTH SIDES. THE DISC IS ESSENTIALLY NEW I WOULD GRADE MINT BUT MY MODESTY STOPS ME. (YOU WILL AGREE IF YOU PURCHASE).
THE SLEEVE STILL HAS THE SHRINK NICE AND TIGHT, IT HAS LITTLE BIN DINGS IN THE CORNERS ENOUGH TO BREAK THE COLOR BUT NO MORE. IT HAS NOT LOST ITS COLOR AND I CAN SEE JUST A HINT OF RING BEHIND THE SHRINK (PARTIALLY THE SHRINK BUT EXPERIENCE SAYS THE SLEEVE HAS ITS LITTLE BIT). THE BACK IS A 2 INCH CIRCULAR HOLE IN THE SHRINK BUT THE SLEEVE IS UNAFFECTED EXCEPT OR A SLIGHT PRESSURE LINE (I AM BEING PICKY). MORE IMPORTANTLY THE ENTRY SIDE, HAS SOME FADING FOR ABOUT AN 1/8 OF AN INCH WHERE THE SHRINK OPENS. THAT ‘S IT
This is a truly fine copy, and I am certain there is none better unless sealed. A true collectors copy, it plays divinely (I just finished listening to it). If you are interested in this disc this is the one.
I am including including the original inner sleeve but this disc deserves better, so I have placed the disc in a MOFI anti-scratch, anti-static master sleeve.
I ship usps priority 2 day, the US post built the country, it is our most treasured institution we should all support it against efforts to privatize and destroy it.

ABOUT ME AND GRADING
I listen to the entire record if possible before I list (I did not make it through a 5 disc Wagner Der Walkure). I am not one of those sellers who is looking at the disc under a 500 watt bulb worried about how to describe scratches. I am interested letting you know how the disc looks, what the obvious and less obvious marks are but more importantly I am interested, like you, in how the disc sounds. Many discs were printed poorly or played allot and have surface noise that is not visual. To be locked into how many surface scuffs and scratches is have half of the story, and not hear any of it.
I am a fair grader and my system is unforgiving, I use an Ortophon 2 red with an Audio-Technica 1240 (tracking 1.8g), a Marantz pm 6005 and Bowers and Wilkins speakers, little escapes unheard). Before you purchase a record from me I want you to know as close as is possible (listening is a subjective art) what you are getting.
