Ten Years After : Sssshh 3L / 3L 1st Press
This is another first pressing that I am selling with audio that cannot be faulted in any way. The clarity and depth on both sides is phenomenal and there is no interference at all. You would not find better audio than this, it is immaculate! There are obviously no clicks or pops, no underlying static and I did not find even a single dust tick!
The cover is in excellent condition with only very minimal shelf wear and the original stereo inner has also been very well preserved down the years.

Visual grading
The vinyl is in lovely condition and still has a very impressive glossy sheen. There are no marks or scratches and only a small number of faint sleeve removal hairlines that obviously have no affect on the stunning audio. There is one small faint horizontal hairline on S2 but again this has no bearing on the audio. There is a little spindle wear but this just shows how well this record has been looked after i.e. played a few times but always handled very carefully and on high end equipment thus retaining its original quality. The run out grooves and labels are also in superb condition.
Play gradingThe 'intro' on 'Bad Scene' plays perfectly with no 'background' and as the track kicks into gear the audio is stunning to say the least. It plays with immense power and the audio is as impressive as it would've been back in '69. No interference, no distortion and from start to finish this is Mint in every way. This is one you can turn up to loud!
'Two Time Mama' is of the same 'high end' standard with no intrusion on the audio whatsoever. The playback is again 'shop fresh' and Mint is very much deserved.
The quiet intro on 'Stoned Woman' has no interference, not even a dust tick, and proceeds to play with sublime clarity and depth for the remainder. There are just no faults and the audio is 'as new' without doubt. Mint
'Good Morning Little Schoolgirl' is stunning from the very first note and the depth of the music is outstanding. A bass heavy track the audio has lost none of its original quality over the last 50+ years. I have never heard better, I cannot overstate just how fantastic it is! The long instrumental is so 'clean' and again I did not even detect a single dust tick let alone anything more. I am confident in grading this as Mint as I honestly believe it could not play any better.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The quiet intro on 'If You Should Love Me' plays to perfection and it continues in the same precise way. Once again there is just no interference and the clarity is just incredible. To think this record is over 50 years old - each note is so 'clean' and 'as new' is not an exaggeration. No ticks, clicks or pops and no underlying static either. Even the long fade out has not one dust tick! This is an immaculate Mint version for sure.
The acoustic intro on 'I Don't Know That You Don't Know My Name' has no 'background' and that applies to the rest of this quieter track. The clarity and depth is stunning and Mint is an easy grade to give.
'The Stomp' is of the same quality and the clarity, depth and warmth of the audio is as good as anything you will find on a 60s vinyl. It is stunning! Honestly audio does not get better than this! Mint
'I Woke Up This Morning' ends the album with amazing quality and once more there is no interference. It is of course such a strong bluesy number and the guitar work here cannot be underestimated. It is so powerful and has no distortion at all, you could not wish to find a stronger version and 'as new' describes it perfectly. Every section is faultless and again not even one dust tick. I am again shaking my head in disbelief at the audio quality here! Even the 'high octane' final few seconds play with 100% perfection. A sublime Mint end to this fine album.
In summary this first pressing plays to a phenomenal standard with not one millisecond of interference. As I have said previously you can find 60s/70s records that have been very well preserved and rarely played but you will still find perhaps one or two minor 'faults'. Well that is not the case here and it quite simply plays with perfect clarity and definition on both sides. This record has been played a few times but it certainly not lost any of its original quality. This is Mint and then some!
The Gatefold
The gatefold is in great condition with only very minor shelf wear. The edges and wide spine have hardly any rubbing although the spine has been 'squashed' a little. However, this is only a minor thing and it remains 100% legible. The corners of the spine have very little wear and the others are also extremely clean, just a very minimal amount bottom right. The opening edge is pristine and the front cover is very similar. There is just one faint scratch line and a minor crease bottom right. This really is very faint! The back cover is in perfect condition with no marking and as can be seen it has the mono/stereo indicator hole top right. The inside of the gatefold is immaculate and has only a little creasing of the inner spine due to the 'flattening' that I mentioned before. Overall a superb example with no obvious wear.
The Inner Sleeve
The original poly-lined Stereo inner is in excellent order with no side splits or tears, no marking and only a little creasing.
The Labels
The red/white Deram labels are superb with no marking or writing apart from one tiny 'speck' on the S2 label. There is only a little spindle wear.
