Description
This album was first released in Canada on Terry Jacks' own label "Goldfish Records" in 1973. The single version of "Seasons in the Sun" was released in that year and became a huge hit world wide, reaching Number 1 on the charts in the US, Canada, the UK and here in Australia. It was distributed in the US and other countries on Bell Records, and the following year they released the whole album on Bell Records for world wide distribution in 1974. The album listed here is the Australian pressing from 1974 on Bell Records. However album sales did not match the single's and it is a difficult album to find. There are four Jacks' original compositions on this album and the rest are covers, including Buddy Holly's "I'm Gonna Love You Too" and the title track "Seasons in the Sun" which was taken from an English language adaptation by Rod McKuen of the song originally written by Belgian songwriter Jaques Brel. The song "Seasons in the Sun" is often played on golden oldies radio stations but if you ask some one who sang it they find it difficult to name the singer. The vinyl on both sides is clean and shiny, no scratches,skips or jumps and both labels are clean. Both sides play LOUD and clear(EX). The cover is also in great shape, with a high gloss front and a dull sheen back. No splits or tears, no stickers or writing, and the spine is intact and can easily be read in the shelf.(EX). The whole album is in great condition and looks as if it was just released.
