Description
Up for auction is a very nice copy of the Thad Jones album "The Fabulous Thad Jones" released on Fantasy's Debut Series (6004) in 1962. Legendary line up that includes Hank Jones, Charlie Mingus, Kenny Clarke, and Max Roach. Early packaging of original 10" LP released on Debut Records in 1956.
This copy is an original mono, deep groove pressing on Red Vinyl. It is still sealed in its original factory loose plastic baggy.
Looks very clean, front and back. Corners are sharp. The only flaw I can see to the cover is along the bottom edge, with some chipping and perhaps a small amount of separation in the middle, though I can't be sure because it is still sealed. See photos for close ups. I am able to see through the plastic bag on the album's open side on the right that the disc is a red vinyl pressing, as many of the first pressings were. Looks like a great copy of this fantastic album. Has a slight musty smell from being stored all these years. No signs of moisture problems.
Put it in your archive and watch it go up in value, or just open it yourself and be the first one to enjoy the pristine pressing.
