RARE ORIGINAL PRESSING - KING 580. Bought it from old warehouse stock in 1970. VVG condition. Has the original versions of "Think" and "Dedicated To The One I Love".

I'm Selling My Collection: From 1970 - 1983 I was a rock critic in the UK and US - Sounds, NME, CREEM, Rolling Stone, etc. I also worked at EMI and Island, managed Generation X and The Go-Gos, run a club, been a DJ, ran labels...All the time, I collected records. Now I'm selling them.
EVERY RECORD & CD I LIST IS MINE - 99% of the time I got them when they were released. I really took care of them. I did my best to keep everything in perfect condition.??There's a lot of BS on eBay hyping up how rare the seller's records are and how perfect the condition is. I describe these records as honestly as I can. The discs are inspected in daylight. Please use the Zoom function on the photos to check for yourself.
ABOUT THIS RECORD:
EXTREMELY RARE! ORIGINAL PRESSING - KING 580.This is my favourite of the three LPs. It has the original versions of "Think" and "Dedicated To The One I Love" - hard cutting r'n'b songs with fabulous vocals and guitar playing. It's not at all surprising that James brown and Phil Spector took these two songs and redid them. The real blinder is LOWMAN PAULING's searing guitar - hard edged, distorted, loud - it's years ahead of what the rest of the world was playing. One listen and you'll know why he was such an influence on STEVE CROPPER.
I got this from Village Music in Mill Valley, San Francisco in 1970 - a really famous record shop in the US with an amazing selection. The owner would find warehouses filled with brand new stock leftover from the 50s. It's been kept in a plastic sleeve since the mid-1970s.
The cover has started to split along the top and bottom edges - from pulling the LP out. Let's face it - King was cheap! The disc is just on the edge of starting to wear. I played it on a very good turntable and stylus, but this is cheap vinyl. There are no skips or clicks - It still sounds EXCELLENT.
CONDITION:
Record is 90%. A few light pressing marks [common in 50s discs like this] that don't affect play. No other marks or scratches. Perfect labels with no spindle wear. Heavy vinyl disc.
Cover is 90%. No marks. No wear on corners. The top and bottom edges have splits for 1 - 2 inches from pulling the LP out. Perfect spine. Check the photo under the Zoom feature.
