Description
THE 5 ROYALES — “Dedicated To You”
King 580 Black Label LP (1957)
Extremely rare 1950’s “doo wop” / vocal group LP , highly sought after by R&B collectors and rarely offered for sale. Clean copies have sold for over $900. It’s a VERY SCARCE and VERY HARD TO FIND record.
I grade very conservatively.
Cover is Clean on front and back with
NO WRITING or TEARS or TAPE, no ring wear etc., but I’m grading it as VG- because it has split seams on top and bottom (see photos). Record I am grading VG- for general surface scratches and scuffs, but it plays very clean like a nice VG+.
If you own other King or Federal or Aladdin or Score LPs like these, you know how they can have visual scratches yet play very clean.
All in all, a very decent copy of a true “holy grail” LP, which likely will not turn up again without taped seams and ring wear and all the other defects you see with most of the other few copies that have surfaced. Selling at a decent price which should be a great deal for the right R&B / vocal group collector.
