Description
Very RARE 1966 South African MONO press of the classic Animals record entitled Animalisms! This was pressed on the unique blue unboxed Decca label (LK 4797, sleeve printed by Record Pac) Hard to find these Brit-pop 60’s LP’s from this part of the world!!
The sleeve has some noticeable defects and is in all fairness, VG-. The cover is still just solid enough without tears, heavy wear etc. but there are some issues. On the front, there’s some discoloration spots underneath the laminate, with a bit more on the top and bottom right corners. The back has more noticeable discoloration/brownish spots and this is not the first sleeve I’ve seen with this feature. There’s a small sticker at the bottom with blue writing nearby and underneath. Therefore the overall rating for the cover = VG-.
The vinyl is a moderate VG+ to EX grade which comes as a pleasant surprise! There are very few light hairlines here and there but the vinyl polish you see on well-cared for records has been retained. The centre labels are very good – very very tiny and few pencil-dot size marks each side but other than that, very nice! Overall grade for the LP = VG+ to EX.
Not a perfect copy but for its musical period and country origin, a collectible for 60’s & Animals’ collectors worldwide!!!
