From the British Beat / R&B boom of the 1960s, The Artwoods never hit the big time but left a legacy of important recordings. Driven by the same R&B that inspired The Animals, Stones, Spencer Davis, John Mayall and others they came together in 1963 fronted by Arthur Wood (Ronnie Wood was his brother) as The Art Wood Combo. Organist Jon Lord later found fame with Deep Purple and Keef Hartley with many 1970s albums. This LP of live tracks recorded somewhere at Llandudno in Wales in 1964 is not the best recording but the band were an important name in the Mod/Soul/R&B bands of the 1960s. Sadly, Art Wood died in 2006.
