Description

                                                DESCRIPTION

ARTIST:                                  THE BAND

TITLE:                        “MUSIC FROM BIG PINK”

PRESSING:              1968 Original FIRST Pressing STEREO LP of The Band’s debut album!

CATALOG #:           CAPITOL  SKAO 2955

LABELS:                   Super clean “Black Colorband” (MFD BY CAPITOL) labels.

Comments:                Extremely SCARCE LP to locate with extremely clean vinyl and a pristine cover.

                                                CONDITION  ( Please refer to Grading Standards below)

COVER:                    NrMT

Comments:                Pristine “pastedown” gatefold cover displays bright vivid colors with absolutely No surface or ring wear, which is extremely rare for this particular cover. There are No marks or writing, No creases, No seam splits, and No cut out marks, discount holes or bar codes. Light wear in the upper right corner (see photograph) is the only minor flaw and mentioned for accuracy. This is one of the cleanest covers for this particular release that you can ever expect to locate - a condition rarity!!

VINYL:                      VG++

Comments:                Extremely clean, full original gloss “rigid” vinyl with a few minor rubs from sliding in and out of the original inner sleeve. There is an insignificant needle trail on side 1 and a very light spindle mark on side 2 (No scratches that can be felt) seen under bright light, which absolutely do not affect play. The album has been play tested and plays beautifully throughout the entire recording with wonderful, bold fidelity!

INNER SLEEVE:    Original “High Fidelity” inner sleeve used by Capitol on some of their albums during the time of release of this LP.

Comments:                “First” pressing copies of “The Bands” debut release are extremely difficult to locate with extremely clean vinyl and a pristine cover without any ring wear! LP features “The Weight” and several songs written or co-written by Bob Dylan, including the cover art.

                                    I have listed additional pristine First pressing “The Band” albums from the “sixties” and early seventies this week, so please check out my other auctions!

I am very conservative with my grading.  There is NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE for multiple LPs won in the same auction cycle.  Payment is due within 72 hours of the end of the auction.  e-mail if you have any questions prior to placing a bid.  All of my LPs come with a protective poly album sleeve and will be shipped in a sturdy cardboard LP mailer, tightly wrapped in bubble wrap for added protection.

Shipping:  $4.00 Media Mail.  If you purchase multiple LPs in this auction cycle, please wait to make payment until I adjust the eBay invoice to reflect one shipping cost.

PLEASE NOTE:  I ship to the United States only!!  NO International bids will be accepted, no exceptions – I will NOT ship overseas.
