The Battered Ornaments had their origins in the unexpected musical aspirations of Pete Brown. When Pete Brown was kicked out of the band, Chris Spedding took over the vocal role for this now very rare album. Twisted Track is a standout cut, which also got an airing on Harvest's Picnic (Dble LP) sampler. Other highlights include Turned On To The Earls Court Scene and there's also some good interplay between the band, particularly Spedding and Khan, throughout. After this album, Spedding concentrated on session work and also pursued a solo career. The remaining members formed The People Band, cutting one album on Transatlantic...(Tapestry of Delights)"MANTLE-PIECE"
