THE BEACH BOYS - " PET SOUNDS ", Capitol Records (T 2458) Mono, 1966.
Very rare, 1966, English 1st Mono LP issue of the classic Beach Boys album.
Featuring original G&L flipback sleeve and matrix numbers - T1 2458-1 / T2 2458-1
English issue and pressing.
Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve (the original inner sleeve has also been retained and included in the auction - see photo)
CONDITION:
VINYL = EXCELLENT- (No big scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, just a few light spindle trails, etc. Under a bright grading lamp I can make out a few very light marks and faint surface scuffs visible on the vinyl's surface - although none of these correspond directly to any audible defects. It generally plays well - mostly free from interuption from distortion, clunks, excessive surface, etc... when listening in headphones, there is some very faint occasional surface noise audible during the run-in, between tracks and some of the quieter sections. As the record played, I did hear the odd faint click in the background from time to time.
Overall, although it is not quite perfect and I realise this will affect the value, it is by no means ruined by these minor imperfections and would still make a good honest copy for someone to play and enjoy.
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)
SLEEVE = EX- (No rips, tears, huge creases, defacing, etc. But had to be marked down for a bit of light general wear affecting the edges/corners, some very slight damage to one of the flipbacks and some very light shelf wear to the rear - see photos for further clarification)
NOTE: I must point out that we are actually a long standing physical record shop, with many decades worth of selling, trading and grading records under our collective belts. Unlike so many of the jokers now selling records on ebay, we know how to grade records.
