The Beatles - 'With The Beatles'. PMC 1206.

The Beatles 1963 UK 1st DECCA RECORDS CONTRACT PRESSING of The Beatles second LP - 'With The Beatles'. Released on the 22nd November 1963, this rare issue was pressed in very limited quantities by Decca Records (in mono only) at the request of EMI. This was done due to huge demand for this release. The decision would not have been made lightly as Decca Records were one of EMI's biggest rivals during the 1960's in the UK.

There is a distinct difference between the routine EMI pressing of 'With The Beatles' and this much rarer contract pressing. The labels bear the distinctive Decca deep 'groove' running 1.5cms from the label's edge. Unmistakeable as a contract pressing.

Released on the yellow and black Parlophone label. Both vinyl labels feature the 'Recording First Published 1963' text and 'The Parlophone Co.Ltd' rim print. The cover is a 'Patents pending' 'Garrod & Lofthouse' issue with large mono logo to the front.

The Matrix numbers are:

Side 1. XEX 447-7N 3 ?H

Side 2. XEX 448-7N 4

The vinyl is in VERY GOOD condition.

Both labels are in VERY GOOD+ condition. Some wear to the centre hole.

The sleeve is in VERY GOOD condition.

The inner sleeve is in VERY GOOD condition.

This LP will be very carefully packaged for transit. UK recorded postage is: £4.55. EU recorded postage is: £12.95. Rest of the world recorded postage is: £18.95. Combined, reduced postage is available.
