Description
Very rare private label EP interview disc, original MONO pressing with picture sleeve. Also includes a rare Test Pressing. These were the personal copies of Carroll James himself.
Paper picture sleeve is in fair condition with considerable chipping at the top and discoloration. Made of thin flat paper much like an old book page.
Record is VG+ condition with one small 1/4" visible scratch. Does not affect the playability.
The test pressing is in EX- condition with standard sleeve wear and basically looks unplayed. Label is handwritten. I doubt you will find another of these.
This promo copy came from the collection of famous WWDC radio station disk jockey Carroll James (aka "The Man Who Broke The Beatles") who was instrumental in the rise of Beatlemania in the US. He was the first DJ to play the Beatles extensively on the radio, forcing Capitol records to release Meet The Beatles six weeks early in the US to meet demand. He was gifted with the chance to interview the Beatles which he released on a 45. James was also the emcee for their first US concert in Washington DC!
Record contains interviews from Feb 11, 1964 - the day of the Washington DC first US concert. Also contains a segment from 1963, Wash DC press conference 1964, and separate interview of George, Paul, and Ringo from 1964.
I have other records from his collection listed - see my other listings.
