Description

The Beatles - ‘Help! / I’m Down’. R 5305

The Beatles 1965 UK 1st FACTORY SAMPLE DEMO pressing of 'Help! / I’m Down' 7" single. Released on the 23rd July 1965, this comes complete with the rare original 'URGENT SPECIAL RUSH COPY TOP POP!' demo sleeve and 1 G matrix.

These initial early factory sample pressings would have usually been given out to reviewers, radio stations or used as quality control within the pressing plant.

Released on the Parlophone label both sides feature the ‘Sold in UK….’ text and have ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ rim print. The a-side label features an embossed ‘KT’ tax code.

This has some very unusual stamper codes. The a-side has the very earliest possible 1 G stampers and the b-side simply has GL with no numbers present (I have looked very carefully). The only only time I have seen the lack of numbers is with the JR stampers, strange.

The Matrix numbers are:

Side 1. 7XCE 18280-2. 1 G KT

Side 2. 7XCE 18281-2: GL KT (no numbers)

The vinyl is in EXCELLENT- condition.

Both labels are in EXCELLENT condition.

The sleeve is in VERY GOOD+ condition. I will include an additional sleeve to protect the original.

This will be very carefully packaged for transit. UK Recorded postage is: £2.65. EU Recorded Postage is: £9.55. Rest of the world recorded postage is: £11.95. Combined, reduced postage is available.
