The Beatles - ‘Strawberry Fields Forever / Penny Lane'. R 5570

The Beatles rare 1969 3rd UK FACTORY SAMPLE pressing of the 'Strawberry Fields Forever / Penny Lane' 7" single. Originally released on the 17th February 1967, this copy has some of the very earliest stampers possible 1 G and 1 L.

These initial early factory sample pressings would have usually been given out to reviewers, radio stations or used as quality control within the pressing plant.

This 3rd pressing OMITS the 'Sold In The UK....' text and has the 'Gramophone Co Ltd' rim print. It did not even make the UK top 40 on it's re-release in 1969. As such it sold in very, very small amounts. It comes housed within the original Parlophone EMI advertising sleeve.

The Matrix numbers are:

Side 1. 7XCE 18415-4 1 G

Side 2. 7XCE 18416-4 1 L

The vinyl is in VERY GOOD+ condition.

Both labels are in EXCELLENT+ condition.

The sleeve is in EXCELLENT+ condition.
