THE BEATLES - 6 UK MONO EARLY/ORIGINAL LP's PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION

PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY! This is not a collection for an audiophile. They are all eminently playable and how they sound will be dependant on your set up. These have all been cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S2 cleaner and play tested on a Rega Planar 3 with Oroton Cartridge, Rega cables and Rega pre-amp with a Yamaha amp and Bower & Wilkins floor standing speakers. All these play with some noise as such, whether the odd pop and crackle or surface noise in general. They are not considered outstanding examples but as early and original presses, they are a great instant entry to one of music's most well known and perhaps most well loved groups. They all show signs of surface marking and spindle wear and where possible I have highlighted this. 

Titles are... 

'Beatles For Sale' (PMC1240 and matrix run out 3N/4N) Sleeve is generally good with obvious spine wear along with small tears at the top and bottom more visible when you open the front. General creasing is also visible, especially on the front of the sleeve (which is quite flimsy) along with ring wear at the rear. Overall, the vinyl is VG+. The occasional pop and crackle but a really nice copy that might not be expected because of the sleeve.    

'Revolver' (PMC7009 with matrix run out -2/-2). Sleeve is actually quite good, some creasing on the front at the top and but nothing too alarming. The vinyl plays a lot, lot better than it might look and also rates as VG to VG+. There is visible marking but like 'Beatles for Sale' it will have the occasional pop and crackle but nothing that stops this being a really good listen and a lovely copy of what I consider (Yellow Submarine aside...) from being their best album too.  

'Please Please Me' (PMC1202 5th pressing with 'Recording First Published', no 'Sold In UK' - 2nd printing sleeve). Usual signs of wear and tear with some minor corner creasing and slight wear to the corners. Vinyl plays well with some noise, occasional in the quieter sections such as between tracks. Again, occasional pop and crackle but once the boys get going you too will be singing along to I Saw Hear Standing There right through to Twist and Shout. 

'With The Beatles' (PMC1206 original 'Jobete' credit, matrix run out 1N/1N) Sleeve has a bit more marking with a more noticeable dent/crease to bottom left. The flip back sections on the rear have some small amounts of damage and there is some staining. Overall, still a reasonable example. Vinyl is generally VG with some light surface marks, never heavy though. More general surface noise throughout but not sufficiently distracting to not allow you to turn it up. 

'Rubber Soul' (PMC1267 matrix run out -5/-5). Sleeve is generally good with most of the wear being along the top and actually at the sleeve opening with the two upper corners being ever so slightly torn. Usual light creasing and ring wear more to the front with the rear being in better condition although the name 'G.W.Murray' has been written to the top left and the same person having potentially marked each track with a very small tick with the exception of 'Michelle'... which gets a x! Vinyl is good, and this is yje only one with an actual scratch that I could detect coming in the first part of track 5 on side 2. Else a bit more surface noise throughout than the others. 

Oldies (PMC7016 matrix run out 1G/1G). Call this the bonus disc. Cover is generally very good but with the corners and sleeve opening showing the most wear. 'G.W.Murray' has taken to writing their name again on the rear and there is some pen markings on the track listing. The vinyl though is only good with my set up picking up a fair bit of noise. Might be that it could benefit from another clean but looking at the fact the vinyl isn't as glossy as the others, it may simply have had a good bit of play given the that it is full of some Beatles golden oldies.  

Grading is based on more than one source including a well respected grading system although it is usually done conservatively unless the item is still new and sealed in which case both the vinyl and sleeve will be graded as mint unless comments describe otherwise.

Photos will usually confirm serial and other identification numbers, track listings etc. especially for those items that have been opened and played. If deemed appropriate run out matrix and other label identifiers will be also be included although if not you are welcome to request them. 

All records will be dispatched in appropriate packaging to protect the contents and usually done so as signed for 2nd class subject to the item value and the level of cover required for insurance if necessary.
