NOTES The main differentiator of this early pressing, compared to later versions, is the black and yellow Parlophone label with the perimeter rim copyright text, 'THE PARLOPHONE CO LTD • ALL RIGHTS OF THE MANUFACTURER AND OF THE OWNER OF THE RECORDING WORK RESERVED • UNAUTHORISED PUBLIC PERFORMANCE BROADCASTING AND COPYING OF THIS RECORD PROHIBITED'. Above the spindle hole the centre text, 'SOLD IN THE U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS'.

There are a number of other differentiators present on both the labels and the cover.

Label:
1 - Has a 'chubby' font with the right-hand side indicator numerals appearing under the '2' in the catalogue number 'PMC 1230' above them.
2 - The publishing copyright date is given as 'RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964', and is nearly left-aligned compared to the matrix number above it.
3 - The group's name 'THE BEATLES' is closer to the 'Northern Songs Music Ltd.' publishing credit below it than the '(Lennon-McCartney)' credit above it. There exists a very similar version with this text placed differently - A Hard Day's Night.
4 - A2 'I Should Have Known Better' has its title split over 2 lines.
5 - All of the song titles on side 2 appear on separate lines.
6 - The KT purchase tax code embossing on the label on either side of the spindle hole. A similar variant has the code MT.

Cover:
1 - Front laminated, tri-flipback and printed by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd., with a medium 'MONO' indicator on the front, top, right hand corner.

VINYL
Graded VISUALLY AS EXCELLENT+ TO NEAR MINT, possibly played this 5-6 times since 1964, have other copies which I played instead.
Beautiful glossy mirror like finish, really beautiful condition with only one feint NON feel able hairline mark " cant buy me love" , any other marks will be sleeve removal ones,
When play tested has absolutely no effect at all on the SUPERB SILENT AUDIO PLAYBACK !

I have played this through track for track at a loud volume on my top end REGA system,  the audio is awesome!

Crystal clear and vibrant through out, with (no) distortion or any signs of groove wear at all  !!!!

Certainly (no) clicks pops or jumps!!  As good as it gets in my opinion!!

THIS AUDIO IS RATED AT THE VERY TOP ON ALL FREQUENCIES!

AUDIO GRADED AS NEAR MINT!!

UNBELIEVABLE FOR A VINYL THAT IS 57 YEARS OLD !!!!!

SILENT ON RUN INS & BETWEEN TRACKS AND STUNNING CLARITY AT HIGH VOLUME ON MY TOP END REGA SYSTEM ! JUST LOVELY !!
SIMPLY AMAZING AFTER 57 YEARS !!

PLEASE SEE ALL PICS AND USE ZOOM
OUTER LAMINATED FLIPBACK MONO SLEEVE
An Excellent  grading for this original Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is accurate. Lovely and clean on the front with some aging stain on rear and a shop sticker removal mark. very presentable example

NO RIPS OR NASTY NAMES WRITTEN ON ETC

RICH IN COLOUR  Super FULLY LEGIBLE spine

The front of the sleeve is very clean and glossy still, the notoriously difficult to keep clean unlaminated rear is also superb, all flip backs are un damaged and all text is clear and legible. SUPERB !!
The spine is unworn and text is clearly visible and legible, always kept in a dust cover and stored correctly. See pics Lovely !!!
(see pictures and use zoom to self assess)

CENTRE LABELS
Both sides are NEAR MINT with just a couple of spindle trails around the centre hole, further evidence of the very few plays in the last 57 years !!
ORIGINAL EMITEX POLYLINED INNER SLEEVE
NEAR MINT LIKE NEW, CRISP, CLEAN AND WITH NO SPLITS. AMAZING !!
