Description
Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my Rolling Stones, Beatles (and related) and 60’s beat records that are from my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, an extremely rare UK 1st STEREO pressing of The Beatles – Beatles for Sale on the YELLOW / BLACK Parlophone label, cat. no. PCS 3062. This copy has the YEX 142-1 and YEX 143-1 matrix numbers, THE PARLOPHONE COMPANY rim text and RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964 text on the label, indicating that this is the first STEREO pressing
The record is in VG minus to VG condition; there are a some hairlines and there is a sounding scratch on the song “I’ll Follow the Sun” that is audible during the complete song and even into the start of “Mr.Moonlight”. There are also a couple marks on side 2, but these were not audible on my record player. The labels are in VG condition; there are some spindle marks, some light wear around the spindle hole on both sides and a very tiny mark of paint loss on the side 2 label.
The cover is in G (good) condition; there are two large creases on the front, a smaller crease in the upper right corner on the front, there is also a name on the front, ther spine has some bald spots and there is even a small hole where the text “Beatles For Sale” should be printed, the back also has some creases and there is some light handling and storage wear in all four corners.
This album still has its original “USE EMI TEX” inner sleeve, which is in good condition. There are creases everywhere, one side seam and the bottom seam have been tape repaired and there in some writing on the top of one side.
Although not in mint condition, this is an extremely rare UK first STEREO pressing of the Beatles’ Beatles For Sale album. This is one of the hardest to find Beatles albums in Stereo. Just how often can you find a copy of this particular album in stereo? Most original pressings were made in mono and stereo pressing were specially ordered on costumer’s demand back in 1964. Al a result, almost all stereo copies are amongst collector nowadays and it’s very hard to obtain one. This is a unique opportunity to complete your life-time Beatles record collection!
