Vinyl:   MINT!   Appeared to have never been played!!!  High Gloss Vinyl!  Apple Photo Labels are Clean and Bright.  This is the SUPER RARE MONO 1970 Apple SBC 100 1ST PRESSING!  A surprisingly candid shot of The Beatles' history from the odd lens of their highly sought after Christmas Releases that were only sent to Fan Club members in the U.S. and U.K.  There are some super-cool spontaneous songs, the likes of which never made it onto Beatles Official Releases.  Some of the prepared on-microphone skits that they do are Krazy Kool...Of the many epic moments on these 7 tracks, my own personal Fave Rave may be an impromptu holiday hello and rendition of "Nowhere Man" by Tiny Tim, introduced by George Harrison!  This one is Crucial and should be spun to delight and Wow your guests during this Holiday Season!  Happy Holidays!!!

Front and back of cover artwork and text are rich, clear and bright, with a few tiny creases.  You won't find a better copy of this SUPER RARE highly sought after album.  Seams, corners and spine are solid, essentially flawless.  No splits.  No writing.

Why buy a first or early pressing and not a re-issue or a ‘re-mastered’ vinyl album?  First and early pressings are pressed from the first generation lacquers and stampers. They usually sound vastly superior to later issues/re-issues (which, in recent times, are often pressed from whatever 'best' tapes or digital sources are currently available) - many so-called 'audiophile' new 180g pressings are cut from hi-res digital sources…essentially an expensive CD pressed on vinyl.  Why  experience the worse elements of both formats?  These are just High Maintenance CDs, with mid-ranges so cloaked with a veil as to sound smeared.  They are nearly always compressed with murky transients and a general lifelessness in the overall sound.  There are exceptions where re-masters/re-presses outshine the original issues, but they are exceptions and not the norm.  First or early pressings nearly always have more immediacy, presence and dynamics. The sound staging is wider.  Subtle instrument nuances are better placed with more spacious textures. Balances are firmer in the bottom end with a far-tighter bass. Upper-mid ranges shine without harshness, and the overall depth is more immersive.  Inner details are  clearer.   On first and early pressings, the music tends to sound more ‘alive’ and vibrant.  The physics of sound energy is hard to clarify and write about from a listening perspective, but the best we can describe it is to say that you can 'hear' what the mixing and mastering engineers wanted you to hear when they first recorded the music.   

The Beatles Christmas Album [Record Club] Review by William Ruhlmann

Between 1963 and 1969, the Beatles recorded seven special Christmas singles for their fan club. These were not formal musical efforts, but closer to off-the-cuff comedy. Early on, they tend to be cheery and thankful for their success, and later on the recordings are more esoteric. (Reflecting their breakup, the 1969 recording is four separate pieces.) The result is an interesting curiosity for fans, although not necessarily the sort of thing you'd want to put on while trimming the tree. This album, compiling the Christmas singles, was available from the fan club between 1970 and 1972. It has never been released commercially.
