Description

THE BEATLES & FRANK IFIELD JOLLY WHAT! ENGLAND'S GREATEST RECORDING STARS  ON STAGE VEE JAY VJLP 1085 MONO 1964 FIRST PRESSING AUDIO MATRIX STAMPED IN RUN OFF VEE-JAY OVAL RAINBOW LABEL
FIRST STAMPERS FOR BEST SOUND
OF COURSE NOT LIVE ON STAGE!!
Offered a well loved copy of the last gasp for VJ to cash in on The Beatles before Capitol finally took over. A copy that plays way better than it looks. This album is getting harder to find all the time as The Beatles collectors are grabbing them up. The condition of the vinyl is VG+ and the cover VG+ Please read on for details.

THE VINYL IS VG+ - UNDER LIGHTS IT SHOWS THIN HAIR LINES SOME MINOR SCUFF MARKS AND 1 FELT SCRATCH THROUGH 3 IFIELD TRACKS ON SIDE 1 THAT DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH THE MUSIC. HEAVY VJ SHINY VINYL

ON PLAYING THE DYNAMICS ARE EXCELLENT, FULL HIGHS AND BASS WITH LITTLE SURFACE NOISE, MAINLY HEARD BETWEEN TRACKS AND AT NEEDLE DROP. THE BEATLES SONGS SOUND VG++ WITH ONLY A SHORT SURFACE NOISE GLITCH AT THE START OF PLEASE, PLEASE ME AT NEEDLE DROP. VJ USED EXCELLENT VINYL AND THE SOUND IS STILL FULL ESPECIALLY AT HIGH VOLUME

THE HEAVY CARD JACKET IS VG+ WITH NO SPLITS - SHOWS NORMAL AGE WEAR AND LIGHT BUMPING TO  CORNERS AND EDGES - NO WRITING DOES HAVE A NAME TAG ADHERED TO FRONT (SEE PHOTO) - SHOWS RING WEAR

SPINE IS VG++ READABLE WITH LIGHT BUMPING TO CORNERS AND EDGE

LABELS ARE BRIGHT WITH SOME PAPER DAMAGE AND A REMOVED LABEL SIDE 1

PLEASE SEE PHOTOS

A TRUE FIRST EDITION REAL COPY - NOT A BOOTLEG!! - A RECORD THAT IS SURE TO INCREASE IN VALUE OVER TIME, NOT MINT BUT STILL PLAYS VERY NICELY AND A NICE ADDITION TO A BEATLES COLLECTION

FINALLY ONE LAST WORD RE HAIRLINES, IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ANY NON SEALED RECORD WITHOUT THEM, MANY HAD THEM FROM NEW. MOSTLY THEY ARE A RESULT OF STORAGE AND USE AND USUALLY HAVE LITTLE IMPACT ON THE SOUND QUALITY. THE SAME GOES FOR BACKGROUND NOISE, UNFORTUNATELY ALL RECORDS WILL HAVE SOME AND THIS VARIES AND REFLECTS THE PRESSING QUALITY.

Most records have production marks where someone touched or moved the vinyl while it was still semi-soft.  These marks look like smudges, but are not scratches or "paper scuffs" and do not usually sound.  Untouched vinyl from newly-opened records have these marks.

 RECOMMENDED!

FULLY GUARANTEED!

IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded.

Records are graded under bright lights or discrete sunlight - In the case of visibly possible harmful scratches, the record will be tested and sound quality noted. Many vintage (1955-70) records will play fine with visible damage due to superior vinyl and better pressings.

How I Grade Condition Of Discs

Mint

This means I have owned it from new or purchased from a distributors warehouse, basically it means absolutely new shape, never been played or out of its dust cover. In the case of LP's, a North American album will have to be factory sealed (anyone can reseal an album!) Take Note: European and Japaneses albums were never shrink wrapped!

Note: Being mint does not guarantee it's free of pops and clicks, many pressings especially from the US were made with very poor vinyl and in a hurry which means often there are imperfections in the pressing. As a former importer, we were often given back brand new albums due to clicks heard in the playback.

Mint Minus - No such thing, it's either mint or not.

Excellent - A disc is super clean, with no visible marks

Excellent Plus, means it's probably mint but can't be proven by me.

Excellent minus, is a disc that is excellent except it may have some markings that do not show up in the playing

VG - A disc that is STILL in good shape, WILL have some scuffs or scratches, not in excellent shape but well worth owning. VG + and ++,a disc that is that much better than VG.

VG minus, just a smidgen below VG
