Description
This is a rarity on vinyl. It is the Beatles record that never saw the light of day. These tracks were recorded in January 1969 and intended for release later that year. However due to disagreements within the band , that never happened. Some of the songs were reworked by Phil Spector and found there way onto the "Let It Be" lp in 1970. However some did not surface again until "Let It Be - Naked" some 30 years later.
This is the Beatles going back to basics. The band are heard chatting between tracks which are sparse and mainly acoustic . There is a real bluesy feel to the music. The tracks are as follows:
Side 1 - Two of us , Dig a Pony , Across the Universe , I me mine, Dig it , Let it Be , Maggie Mae
Side 2 - I've got a feeling, One after 909 , The Long and winding Road, For You Blue , Get Back
The cover photograph shows the band in the same place as they were for their first lp, "Please Please Me" , at the EMI building in Manchester Square, London.
With the record is a card insert with text written by Mal Evans.
The record has plain white labels. The vinyl is in excellent condition with no scratches. The cover is in similar condition with a few thumbnail creases only.
I'm not sure about the origins of this record as it was not realeased in its original form. However it may be of interest to collectors of Beatles rarities. If you have any questions I will try to answer them.
