Here’s your chance to add a BEATLES PROMOTIONAL 45 RPM RECORD issued by Capitol Records to YOUR Beatles collection.

It is a PROMOTIONAL SINGLE (7-Inch/45 RPM) with LIGHT-GREEN CAPITOL RECORDS LABELS.

“NOT FOR SALE” is boldly printed on both labels.

As you probably know, PROMO RECORDS were released by record companies ONLY to the radio stations and DJs for airplay (to promote the artists, new single or new LP) or to music stores/departments for in-store play. They were not released to, sold to, or made available to the general public. PROMO RECORDS (depending on the artist, song or LP) have become VERY DESIRABLE to vinyl collectors due to their very-limited production numbers (scarcity) and non-availability to the public.

This record was released in November, 1967.

This promo record was pressed at Capitol Record’s Los Angeles Plant. There is an asterisk (*), the identifying symbol Capitol used to designate vinyl pressed at it LA plant, stamped into the dead-wax at the end of each song.

The labels credit Maclen Music on both sides; however, the B-side should actually be credited to Comet Music.

The VINYL is in about VG MINUS (VG-) CONDITION with a number of mostly light surface hairlines/scuffs, but several of them (about 6 or 7) are feel-able. I played both sides on my Technics turntable tracking at ½ gram and there are a number of “pops”, but there are NO SKIPS.

As you can see in the images, the LABELS are VERY CLEAN with VERY MINIMAL WEAR. There are NO stickers, NO sticker stains or residue, NO writing and NO tears (the work of DJs) that are often found on the labels of promotional records.

The record is quite surprising to me: It has MAGNIFICENT PROMO LABELS and VERY GLOSSY VINYL, but there is audible distraction from the pops.)

This record comes with a 1960s generic Capitol Records paper sleeve that I believe is the correct sleeve for this record.
