THE BEATLES
HELP!
1965 1ST MONO
CAT. NO. PCS 3071
1st Press  -2/ -2 Mono Matrices
An incredibly rare original copy of Help! having 1G/ 1G mother and stamper codes making it one out of the first ever made! This will really not come along very often, if ever again! Overall it is in Very Good condition and plays well, but it feels extra special just holding it.

Sleeve: Very Good condition. Has retained its original glossy finish, bright coloration and contrast... Corners are a little rounded due to wear but  with straight unblemished edges and spine the sleeve is structurally sound; no tears, rips, or repairs, and no blemishes such as writing, ring-wear, or indentations.  There is a slight rippling effect/ storage wear to the opening side edges particularly on rear panel.Lamination has a few creases emanating from top bottom edge. Lies completely flat and the fold-over's are still well adhered and clean, and the rear panel is really  clear white with jet black sleeve notes. Quite respectable and strong sturdy card and great to know this would have been one of the first manufactured with that iconic picture of the Fab Four.

The Vinyl: In a very strong Very Good condition ... Has retained a jet-black glossy pressing sheen all over both surfaces and looks to have been played a fair bit but handled respectfully. There are no warps, no scuffs, no needle drops, no groove wear, no scratches, and no hairlines which look shocking or remotely feel-able. The surfaces are clean and have retained their original lustre and project a strong mirror-like shine. Inspected closely under a strong light there are a fair amount or non feel-able hairlines causing no loud audio problems; and a few wispy sleeve removal lines but only cosmetic. The condition clearly shows the potential for a great audio rendition and I believe as potentially the first ever, this is in fine condition.

Mothers & Stampers: 1 G / 1 G

Inner Sleeve: Original tracing-paper lines EMI advertising inner sleeve in Excellent Condition with no splits or discolouration, and neat opening seam. Has a few handling creases.

The Labels: Very Good condition. A fair amount of play-wear to the spindle perimeter, there are a fair amount of localised spindle line traces to the spindle point. KT tax code present and still bold.

The Audio: There are very little audible detractions, no particular deviation from the original audio quality. It plays as well as likely to be possible for such a rare find, very clear and lucid with only the occasional static type tic and does have a a very small number of clicks which are only audible in a few of the linking grooves between tracks and quieter parts too; and possibly the odd static tic due to age of the record in some of the fades in's/ out's. Lucid instrumental detail with deep warm mono channelling and bass and loud and punchy vocals. No jumps, no pops, no skips, no background noise, no sticks etc. I believe it sounds better than most because it was fresh off the pressing machine. Overall very clear non troublesome and finely tuned audio, but this all about the historical significance.
