Condition:

Sleeve: EXCELLENT :   Front laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve in lovely condition.  Clean throughout, and with just a light but clear disc impression to the front.

All flipback seams are beautifully intact and damage free, edges are free of splits or scuffing, and the spine is strong with a good bold title print.  There is some very light edge creasing.

The rear is completely unmarked, and thankfully free of the usual stickers, but a previous owner has left their name written neatly in pen below the word HELP on the rear.   Shows light handling marks along the opening edge.

The inner sleeve is an original white EMITEX lined sleeve in quite excellent and totally undamaged condition, but top corners are slightly creased.  

Record: VG / EXCELLENT  -  The vinyl is in really SUPERB condition for it's age with a great sheen.  On close examination side 1 shows one or two very light surface hairlines and a light scuff over track 3.  Side 2 is virtually blemish free but has a light hairline running over track 7.  All of the blemishes described are very light and non feelable.  I have listened carefully to both sides and there does not appear to be any adverse effect on play quality.

The labels are clean and bright, totally free of writing and stickers, and shows only average to light spindle wear, remarkable considering the age of the record.  Side 2 shows the embossed "KT" Tax Code quite clearly.

  Checked for sound and quality - and it plays superbly well throughout - no skips or jumps -  and the original MONO sound quality is striking, and in my opinion far better than the stereo releases.

Given that this is an original 1st Pressing in Mono from 1965, I would have no hesitation in describing its overall condition as EXCELLENT.

I try to accurately describe the condition as per The Record Collector's Guide's parameters:

MINT:  The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.  Records advertised as Sealed or unplayed should be mint.

EXCELLENT:  The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.  The cover and packaging may have some slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD:  The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.  Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD:  The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc.
