"HELP!" PARLOPHONE PMC 1255 MONO PRESSING RELEASED 6th AUGUST 1965
STAMPERS 4 RRD 8 RAO MATRICES XEX 549 -2N XEX 550-2N
UK first pressing with "THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD" rim text and "SOLD IN THE UK" label text.
Outline MONO on front sleeve indicates a 1st pressing. Garrod & Lofthouse (only) sleeve credit. Tax code "KT" embossed on label. The disc is in superb condition. Possibly the best I have ever seen. Bright deep black glossy sheen. Extremely rare in this condition.
The record plays with the distinction one might expect from a mono first pressing on the original EMI heavy-weight vinyl. The bass is punchy, the vocals are crisp and clear and the instrumentation is well defined. The run ins are quiet, the dead wax in-between songs and at the end of each side is quiet. It's superb!
Note there are a couple of soft tics after "Another Girl" but these are NOT over the music but BETWEEN tracks.
The labels are as per photos with minor wear. Original Sans Serif type face. Later ones used Roman font.
Playback was absolutely superb with no background AT ALL. No pops no clicks or tics no repeats or jumps. The run-ins and run-outs are COMPLETELY SILENT. (except where noted)
The EMITEX inner is in great condition. See photos.

The Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is front laminated only is in superb original condition. A light corner bump. Wrap around rounded flipovers to the rear NOT square cut as were later issues.
The spine is straight and true with ALL the print undamaged and fully legible. See photo.
All the other seams are in similar superb condition.
The opening is free of feathering.
The rear of the sleeve retains its original white appearance. Usually they are faded or become grubby after nearly 60 years!
Top left rear is the original price 32/- of the record. I have left it so as to maintain the originality of the disc.
The disc has been professionally cleaned on a high end DEGRITTER ULTRASONIC CLEANING MACHINE and will be sent with an anti static NAGAOKA inner sleeve.
As always I have played every track in full. I cannot emphasise enough just how strong and clear the audio is, the playback is stunning.
As stated in my introduction the previous owner really knew how to look after his LPs !

- NEAR MINT ~ visual inspection has revealed that the record plays noiselessly. If there are any surface marks these will be noted in the listing.
- EXCELLENT ~ The record shows some signs of being played but there is very little lessening of the sound quality. There may be some light crackle but NO major problems like LOUD clicks. Occasional soft tics are acceptable. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
- VERY GOOD ~ The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality. despite noticeable surface and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items without any major defects is acceptable
