THE BEATLES

“Help!”

Capitol Records Mono MAS-2386

Up for an auction is a collectible copy of The Beatles Help!, not just rare promotional copy, but also unique, because this copy belonged to a radio station owned by the legendary Philadelphia based Philco consumer electronics company, a pioneer in radio, television and battery production, which built many iconic radios and television sets, including the classic cathedral-shaped wooden radio of the 1930s (The "Baby Grand"), please see a photo of it attached in this listing. Philco is also a record label, associated with Columbia, which had Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Bing Crosby and others. This very early 1st promotional press has a perforated rill-hole "PROMO" punch at the top right corner of the gatefold cover. Black rainbow Capitol Records multi-colored 1st print mono labels without the "Ken Thorne" author credit for the "The Bitter End" and "The Chase" tracks. (Side 2) The cover is in great condition, super clean, including the interior gatefold with rigid spine, containing a fully readable text. The paste over slick on the front cover doesn't have any tears or missing pieces. The perforated "PROMO" punch also doesn't have any signs of damage. Some occasional corner edge wear. Very light signs of ring wear on the back cover. I grade the cover as Excellent Minus, considering that this is an early promotional copy. The album comes with the original 1st press "Capitol's New Improved Full Dimensional Stereo sounds better than stereo has ever sounded before" inner sleeve in Near Mint Minus condition without any splits or tears. I grade the vinyl conservatively as Very Good Plus Plus, perhaps it would be more appropriate to grade it as Excellent Minus. The vinyl has some very light marks, none of which can be felt with a finger nail. The vinyl shows a gorgeous glossy luster with the labels in Near Mint condition, which don't have any spindle marks. Please pay attention that there's a promotional copy of The Beatles Meet the Beatles! with two ink rubber stamps, which also belonged to a radio station owned by Philco, currently listed for an auction.

CONDITION:

VINYL - VERY GOOD PLUS (VG++ - EX-)

COVER -  EXCELLENT MINUS (EX-)

POLICY:

Realizing how important it is to secure the safety of the item you've paid your money for, I'll put my best effort into packing the records as best as possible, triple boxing them into the specialized professional boxes, with the two outer boxes having a special construction with extended cardboard on the edges to prevent the record covers' corners from getting damaged during the transit, and will also put the vinyl outside of the cover (of course, unless it's a sealed record) to prevent the splitting. I always try responding to the messages, but please, before sending me a message, make sure that the answer to your question isn't included in the description. I'll use my right to block a buyer, who doesn't correspond to my idea of politeness, culture and respect toward each other. If you want to participate in my auction, please be honest and positive, and I'll be mutual with you. I'll remove the bids of a buyer with zero rating, unless he contacts me prior to placing a bid. Unfortunately, I don't ship to Germany or Russia. I apologize to the buyers from these countries in advance.
