Condition
Vinyl- Excellent
Vinyl has a lovely sheen. There are visible hairlines and fine sleeve removal marks in bright light but nothing feelable. Track 3 side 2 does should a couple of scuff marks. There are also a couple of needlestick marks on side 2. Nice looking vinyl.
Audio – Very Good+
Audio is clean and bright. There is background crackle throughout, more obvious to run in/run off and between tracks. Just a couple of pops too. I feel this is being caused by a poor clean in the past and would be improved by a professional cleaning. Still a great listen through this classic album. No skips or jumps.
Labels– Excellent+
Labels are in beautiful condition. The A side apple is a lovely dark green colour. Just some minor spindle wear to both sides. No writing, tears or scuffs.
LP Sleeve- Excellent
The Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is in lovely condition. Just the most minimal of light creases around the edges with some visible rimwear. The narrow spine is clean and fully readable with no laminate cracking. All corners have some minimal storage wear. There is a little seam separation to bottom opening corner. The rear sleeve shows the first press red apple logo. The rear sleeve also has some ‘indentation’ marks (just across the track listing and Paul’s photo), probably caused by someone pressing a pen through paper.
LP Inner Sleeve- Excellent+
Original, plain white inner sleeve is in lovely clean condition. Just the lightest age discolouration and minimal creasing but no seam splits or tears.
Slip cover - Excellent
The fragile slip cover is in lovely condition. There is some creasing around the edges, a little laminate lift to the top of the front cover and a small tear to one side (right of George’s photo) – see photos. Some very light storage wear to the corners and a little furring to the exposed top edge. Nice example.
Outer Tray – Excellent
Again another fragile part of the package but it has survived in lovely condition. Just some light creasing and storage wear to corners.
Inner Tray – Near Mint
Sadly, this is a reproduction inner tray. Didn’t have the original when I purchased the record.
Get Back Book – Very Good+
Another fragile item which is in really great condition. The cover does have some wear around the edges and some creasing and a little laminate lift to the front. The rear cover shows some damage to both spine corners (see photos). The title on the spine itself is clean and fully readable. Inside the glue on the very back page has come away from the rear cover. Otherwise all pages are still intact and there are no loose pages. The pages are in beautiful condition with just the faintest age discolouration around the edges of the white pages.
Overall this is a lovely copy of The Beatles final LP release. Increasingly difficult to find in this condition. Good Luck!
