The seventh Beatles EP  Long Tall Sally was first released in the UK on the 19th June 1964.  The EP contained four tracks that were familiar to all those who were witness to the early Beatles performances at the Cavern Club and other venues during the groups formative years when songs such as Long Tall Sally, Matchbox, and Slow Down were performed not only be the Beatles themselves but by many of the musical groups on the Liverpool Scene at that time. The other track I Call Your Name credited to Lennon-McCartney had been given to and recorded by another group Billy J Kramer & The Dakota's a year earlier (1963) but it is understood that John Lennon was dissatisfied with that groups production of the song and the Beatles decided to release their own version.

The condition of both the vinyl and the Garrod & Lofthouse laminated flipback sleeve on this first pressing we consider to be slightly better than Excellent and we have therefore graded both as EX+.

Please check listing Photo's and Grading Guide below for condition criteria used by us.  Our Gradings are made in compliance with Record Collector guidelines and are carefully assessed. but all gradings from whatever source are subjective and in the unlikely event of dispute or dissatisfaction with any aspect of our listed products a full refund will be issued on return of item in same condition as when despatched.
GRADING GUIDE:
Mint (M)  VINYL: Should be in perfect "As New"and should appear unplayed with no evidence of spindle wear or defect other than the possibility of the lightest of sleeve scuffing which can occur when vinyl is removed from Inner Sleeve for checking. Labels should be clear, clean, and free from non-manufacturing defects of any kind. SLEEVE: Should be perfect without sign of wear and tear, splitting, staining etc. Near Mint (NM) VINYL: As Mint, but for possibly the slightest of defects such as a minor surface abrasion or hairline scratch but still with no visible spindle wear, warping, or evidence of repeated play. Labels should be virtually as Mint. SLEEVE: Should be practically flawless with no more than the slightest sign of creasing or ageing. Excellent (EX) VINYL: Shows some signs of having been played and may possibly show minor surface abrasions or light surface scratches but with very little lessening of sound quality. SLEEVE: May have some slight wear and/or creasing.  Very Good (VG) VINYL: May have been played many times but despite noticeable surface marks/light scratches displays no major deterioration in Sound Quality. SLEEVE: Normal wear and tear will likely be evident. Sleeve may display noticeable scuffing/creasing, or may have small spilt but should show no major defects. Good (G) VINYL: There may be some deterioration in Sound Quality and/or visual indication of heavy play, but record should still play without skipping or other major playback issue.  SLEEVE: The cover and/or contents might display some folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits or discolouration. Fair (F) VINYL: The record will be playable but will probably not have been properly cared for. It may (but not inevitably) have considerable surface noise or may even skip. SLEEVE: The cover and any Inserts may be stained and/or defaced.
