Description
Here's a 1970 pressing of HELP by The Beatles. Any Beatles LP is a classic. But this copy of The Beatles Help is a treasure. It's the FIRST STEREO UK PRESSING, and it is in amazing condition. The UK pressings sound far superior to their US counterparts. This LP plays NEAR MINT. The sound is amazing, and when this LP was released the new stereo recordings cost a dollar more than their mono counterparts. It was a big difference then, and so fewer were sold. Also, the one's that were sold, were most likely sold to people who had a more refined stereo system. And, as we all know, the biggest record killer was heavy tone arms on the LPs. Try finding a pristine early James Brown record for example... So, this copy is an outstanding survivor. It sports Matrix SIDE 1 YEX 1680-1 with mother stamps 2 OA . SIDE 2 YEX 169-1 with mother stampers 3 AT . It has the EMBOSSED "KT" tax stamp on the side 2 label in the center. The FLIPBACK GARROD & LOFTHOUSE COVER has 6509 and PMC1255 and PCS 3071 on the bottom back right. The COVER is in great VG++ condition. The colors are vivid and beautiful, the spine and seams are beautiful. What's wrong with the cover? Well, a proud owner, Maria Thyresson signed her name and with a JT on the back cover bottom left. The back cover has slight toning from age. Some small fraying along the front opening. A couple very small and almost unnoticeable hairlines on the front cover from handling. There is no original inner with this copy. The LP plays perfectly 100% clean and beautiful, as new with incredible bold and punchy sound. The vinyl is also visually impeccable. The LABELS do have spindle marks that indicate this copy was played, but played with love and care. Maria, an owner of this copy did write JT in ink on both sides of the Parlophone logo on side 1. This is an amazing top copy that survived in such condition for the first 55 years. It will surely be treasured by future owners.
