Most of Let It Be was recorded in January 1969, before the recording and release of 'Abbey Road'. For this reason, some argue that Abbey Road should be considered the group's final album and Let It Be the penultimate.
Let It Be was originally intended to be released before Abbey Road during mid-1969 as Get Back, but the Beatles were unhappy with this version, which was mixed and compiled by Glyn Johns, and it was temporarily shelved. A new version of the album was created from the studio tapes by Phil Spector in 1970 and finally released as Let It Be.
The album acts as a soundtrack album for the 1970 motion picture of the same name, a documentary of the band rehearsing and recording the album. While two songs from the sessions were released as singles before the album's release, "Get Back" and "Let It Be," the songs were remixed by Spector for the album.
The rehearsals and recording sessions for the album did not run smoothly because of increasing acrimony among the four Beatles. The group bickered and argued throughout the album's production. George Harrison, at one point during the rehearsals, walked out and quit the group after severely arguing with both Paul McCartney and John Lennon, only to be coaxed back some days later.
The film version is famous for showcasing a number of conflicts between the group members and has frequently been referred to as a documentary intended to show the making of an album but instead showing the break-up of a band

Track Listing:
Side 1: Two Of Us / Dig A Pony / Across The Universe / I Me Mine / Dig It / Let It Be / Maggie Mae
Side 2: I've Got A Feeling / One After 909 / The Long And Winding Road / For You Blue / Get Back

LABELS: The labels are clean, bright and unmarked with just a few light spindle traces - this copy has clearly seen very little play
VINYL Visual: The vinyl surfaces still retain their original deep, like-new glossy sheen and are practically unmarked - beautiful record
VINYL Audio: Outstanding audio on this first pressing - a beautifully recorded album with a very deep, very rich and detailed and incredibly warm sound - gorgeous audio reproduction and on playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my records prior to listing and its always a great pleasure to return to this one) there are no scratches, no jumps/sticks, no surface noise and no loud clicks/pops - this is a beautifully clean press. The whole album plays throughout to an extremely high standard with great clarity, no groove-wear, no distortion (I don't think it's been played that much), sounds really sensational and is critically graded EXCELLENT++ for audio - great copy
SLEEVE: The original fully laminated G&L sleeve with the RED APPLE logo is a strong EXCELLENT (at least). The laminate has a beautiful deep gloss to both the front and back surfaces with just a little rubbing (showing as light ring impression) and a little dulling to the shine. The sleeve is also very flat with hardly enough room for the spine text, but its all there, clear and bold and all edges are crisp and sharp with no wear. Overall, a very fine example of this rare *red apple* sleeve variant
