THE BEATLES
Side 'A' - 'Love Me Do'
Side 'B' - 'P.S. I Love You'
This disc was released as a limited edition to mark the 50th anniversary of the original release on 5 October 1962.
This is a replica of the original single that was presented in the original colourful "beach towel" Parlophone company sleeve. The audio itself is taken from the mono remaster of 2009.

FURTHER INFORMATION:
There are two versions of the original 'Love Me Do' single:
- Version one features Ringo on drums - that was recorded on 4th September 1962 and was used on the early releases of the single, and
- Version two features Andy White on drums (with Ringo on tambourine), which was recorded on 11th September 1962.
This version of the single was immediately recalled by EMI as it was discovered they had mistakenly used the version of Love Me Do that features Andy White on drums. Also, they had wrongly used the catalogue number of 45 - R 4714 on the B Side (R 4714 belongs to a 1960 Matt Monroe release 'Portrait of my Love').
EMI announced that it was under strict instruction from The Beatles' Apple label to recall and destroy all copies of that single.
Some record dealers who received their stock of the single mid-week are known to have honoured mail orders before the recall - so there are copies in circulation (although it is not known how many).
The withdrawn release has BC88258-01A1 etched in the run-out groove of the A Side and BC88258-01B1 etched in the run-out groove of the B Side.
Version Two. 22nd October 2012 release: EMI reissued the single on 22nd October. That version now included the (correct) original version of 'Love Me' Do featuring Ringo on drums - although the B Side still carries the wrong catalogue number of 45 - R 4714!
That correct release has the matrix detail of BC91232-01A etched in the run-out groove of the A Side, with matrix detail BC88258-01B1 etched in the run-out groove of the B Side (as the 5th October release).
PLEASE NOTE: The item listed here is the re-issued and authorised second version of the 50th anniversary 'Love Me Do' disc (that has the correct catalogue number on the A side - BC91232 - 01A).

'Love Me Do' was the debut single of The Beatles. It was originally released on 6th October 1962 and reached number 17 in the UK charts.
The photographs used in this listing were all taken by myself and are of the item listed.

Condition gradings:
M - Mint - In perfect/As new condition
EX - Excellent - Sleeve and vinyl is used and shows only very minor (if any) signs of wear.
VG - Very Good - Sleeve will have obvious signs of wear/damage. Vinyl will have obvious signs of wear but will play with no major faults (although there may be some surface noise).
G - Good - Sleeve will have significant wear/damage. Vinyl will have a fair amount of surface damage however it will play with no sticks or jumps but will have significant surface noise
F - Fair - Sleeve will be badly damaged. Vinyl will have significant damage and may play with surface noise and may jump/stick etc.
+ & - may be used if an item is between standard gradings.
