Description

Hello there, and welcome to my auctions! For information about this specific record please scroll down to the blue text below! Thanks!
During this lockdown, I started to sort through some of my mountains of rare records, at first pulling out ones I didn't play as much as I should, or else ones that I've since upgraded from. However as time has gone on I have done some soul searching, and dug deeper into my collection (and the ones that were kind of my investment plan for if I fell on hard times!), this week, I offer some of them to you, mainy rare Beatles variants, and a bit of very rare Psych Folk etc.  Some super rare Beatles (Megarare SOLID CENTRES  And some rare LPs Gold Parlophone, XEX-606-1 etc.
Anyway, if you don't already follow me, please consider it, as ebay will keep you updated whenever I list new items.

I am willing to combine postage as best I can, but if postage goes significantly over the stated price of asingle LP, I ask that the buyer cover the excess, and as such be aware that often if the weight goes over 1kg (about 3 LPs) it's often cheaper to send in two seperate parcels, please bear this in mind when combined purchases!

My background: I have collected records since the 80s, and although I have had a few cut-downs, I still seem to have mountains of records in my collection! I have sold records both online an in person for about 20 years, and have many repeat customers from all over the world. I pride myself on being fair both in gradings and communications, adn I please ask that buyers do the same. I will not be held feedback hostage, though should, heaven forbid anyone be unhappy with their purchase, I will work with the buyer as best I can to find a solution. I have written detailed descriptions of each of these records, and so please don't bid purely off the photos.

Grading: I grade using the Record Collector Rare Record Grading system with the addition of NM, by which I mean a non-sealed but to my eyes perfect, possibly unplayed, or played incredibly carefully once or twice! I will not use the term M (Mint) unless the record is sealed, or there is some other demonstrable way of proving it is unplayed. Please bear in mind that in my gradings EX+ for example are incredibly good records, that you almost never see! I feel that I grade down if anything, please check my feedback for proof of this! I have sold many records (some incredibly rare ones in the 4 figures) over the years, so please rest assured that my gradings have been satisfactory so far! Though, if you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me before leaving negative feedback. I haven't had negative feedback so far, and don't intend to start now if I can at all help it!

PLEASE NOTE THAT AS THE CURRENT PANDEMIC SITUATION EVOLVES, IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO PREDICT EXACTLY WHAT RESTRICTIONS MAY BE ENFORCED FROM ONE WEEK TO THE NEXT, THEREFORE I CAN'T RULE OUT UNPREDICTED DELAYS ETC, BUT AS THE WINNING BIDDER, I WILL WORK TO MAKE ANY UNFORSEEN OBSTICLES AS NON-DISRUPTIVE AS POSSIBLE! THANKS FOR UNDERSTANDING!
THE BEATLES PLEASE PLEASE ME VERY RARE 3RD PRESS Extra 33 1/3 PMC 1202
As with the very earliest RED LABEL versions of the Love Me Do and Please Please Me 45s the BEATLES debut LP also caught the very tail end of the 1950s style labels. With their 1st LP, the very initial pressings were pressed with the now incredibly sought after GOLD PARLOPHONE labels. Now this was pressed with both Dick James credits (1st Press- please see my other listings!), Northern Songs credits (2nd Press), and then a very, very limited run, seeing the very first signs of the NEW Yellow and Black Parlophone, which most Beatles collectors have cometo see as synonnymous with Beatles LPs. However this incredibly limited run showed a few last vestiges of the Gold label,in particular no publishing Date (this contiuned into 4th pressings aswell- also rare) AND the extra "33 1/3" next to the printed Matrix code at 10 o'clock on the labels. This extra 33 1/3 puts this record very high on the rarity scale, and most collectors are missing this variation, and most copies that docomeup for saleare pretty trashed, so here's your chance to fill this rare gap in your collection! This is an ex-library record as is stamped on the inner-sleeve it came in (not the correct one, though I willinclude it,along with a correct emitex one!) "Leicester City Music Library Libraries" so they pretty quick on the trendn in the libraries of Leicester!
Record Condition: VG a general dusting of surface marks/hairlines, mainly visible when angled under strong, direct light, but nothing significant. Plays nicely with just some light vinyl presence in the quieter passages. Absolutely no jumps or significant pops etc. A decent playing copy of a very rare LP!
Labels Condition: VG+ the all important rare labels, very nice condition, completelyfree from grafitti, tears, stickers, stains etc. Just a little spindle rub around the central spindle holes.Really nice examples of these very rare labels. (ZT tax code embossed around the central spindle hole of side 2)
Sleeve Condition: VG- The correct original Ernest J. Day "Gold" sleeve, with far right alligned Angus McBean photo credits (please see my current 1st Press Gold Parlophone PLease Please Me LP listing for more info on this sleeve variation) in decent condition.General handling wear has caused some creases in the lamination, the bottom back flip-back tab to disconnect (as is the case with 90% of these "Gold" sleeves), and the top edge to wear-through for the first 3", a little corner wear, and a small pin hole to the right of the top left hand red Parlophone Box (only to the front, not allthe way through). OK,that's all the negatives dealt with, this is still nice as it is completely free from grafitti, significant stains etc. The spine is still perfectly legible, and when all is said and done,it is still the original Gold Parlophone sleeve of this very rare 3rd press Please Please Me!
